Sony's PlayStation 5 launch event is tomorrow

Sony PlayStation 5 Launch

The event has now been rescheduled for tomorrow as it was originally postponed

Sony's upcoming event for its latest flagship console was postponed last week, following the death of George Floyd and the protests that are taking place across the world the launch was supposed to take place on Thursday 4 June.

The event has been pre-recorded and will be played out in HD at 1080p.

However, the good news is that Sony have announced the event will be taking place tomorrow instead and will be running slightly more than an hour.

The PlayStation 5 will be capable enough to play its various titles on a 4K TV or monitor, much like Microsoft's Xbox One X and Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro. The standard PS4 doesn't support 4K.

Although we know Sony's new gaming system is called PlayStation 5, PS5 for short, we don't much that much about the design on the actual console. If this'll be revealed at tomorrow's event or at some point in the future, we'll find out soon.

We'll be watching the event with headphones on. Why? Because in an official blog post about the PS5 launch, senior director for Sony Interactive’s Content Communications, Sid Shuman, goes on to say that there is "some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.” This could be because the PS5 has 3D audio capabilities and they'll sound amazing through a set of headphones.

You'll be able to watch the event on YouTube or Twitch at the following times:

1pm PDT

9pm BST

10pm CEST
