Google has delayed the launch of Android 11

Google has pushed back the launch of Android 11, which is set to be the latest version of Android.

The official Android Developers Twitter (@AndroidDev) account has today announced the delay of the latest version of the Android operating system, which will be named Android 11.

There was supposed to be a launch event for Android 11 that was due to take place on Wednesday June 3rd but understandably, this has also been cancelled.

The Tweet read:

"We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June 3rd event and beta release. We'll be back with more on Android 11, soon."

The reason why the event and launch of Android 11 has been cancelled could be because of the current tragedy in the US over the killing of an unarmed black man. This hasn't been confirmed by Google, though and with the current coronavirus pandemic across the world, social distancing rules must still be respected.

Android 11 is set to bring enhancements 5G devices and foldable phones. There is also set to be new camera capabilities too, it revealed in a blog post previewing just a handful of features Android 11 has to offer.
