Carphone Warehouse to no longer sell O2 contracts as relationship ends

Carphone Warehouse

The UK's biggest mobile retailer, Carphone Warehouse, will no longer sell O2 contracts

Carphone Warehouse will no longer sell contracts and mobile tariffs from mobile company O2, who are owned by Telefonica UK.

A few weeks ago, we announced that Carphone Warehouse's parent company, Dixons Carphone, was to shut all of its 531 standalone stores on Friday 3 April. Before they closed, Carphone Warehouse stopped selling O2 contracts both in-store and online. Even though its standalone stores have now closed, O2 contracts aren't being sold online, tough through Carphone Warehouse.

The contract expired on March 31 2020, after 20 years of trading with Carphone Warehouse.

Carphone Warehouse still have contracts with EE, Virgin Media VOXI (owned by Vodafone) and Vodafone as well as Carphone Warehouse's own virtual mobile network, iD Mobile.

Carphone Warehouse says even if you've brought an O2 contract from them, "nothing changes for you - we continue to support all customers to get the most from their devices".

You can of course still buy contracts, including SIM-Only, Pay As You Go and Pay Monthly. They also offer great benefits for being an O2 customer like O2 Wi-Fi, O2 Priority and at the time of writing, you can get 6 months of Disney+.
