A bug on Facebook has exposed millions of photos
Social networking site, Facebook, have confirmed that a bug in its software has exposed photos of up to 6.8 million. This also includes photos that have not been posted on the site or onto people's profile pages.
Facebook have said that it will notify users that have been affected by this bug.
This bug has been found in software it uses to give third-party applications permission to access photos. It was active in September, for 12 days.
As well as the Cambridge Analytica data scandal, this is the latest data breach to affect the social media website and its apps.
The bug let developers and others see photos that have not been uploaded to Facebook yet, as well as giving access to photos that have been posted in the Facebook Marketplace and in the Stories feature.
