Nearby notifications discontinued in December on Android devices

Nearby notifications will be discontinued on December 6

The latest version of Android - Android Pie - has already been released on Google Pixel smartphones and it's on the Essential Phone, too. Other smartphone markers will soon be revealing when it'll arrive on other Android devices.

Google however, is discontinuing a services and this means it'll no longer be visible on your smartphone and you will no longer be able to use it.

In a post on Google's site, Nearby Notifications will no longer be sent to your device from December 6 2018.

In its post, Google have said a "significant increase in locally irrelevant and spammy notifications". This is why the service is being stooped altogether by the phone giant.

The Nearby notifications meant that users would be given useful and relevant information for the area where they currently are. Apps could also be discovered and downloaded too.

It has been said that the Nearby service does not meet the standards, which is why it'll disappear at the start of December this year.
