Snapchat's new update has a total redesign and it may take time to get used to it

Snapchat has been given a new update, and not all users like it.

If you have automatic app updates turned on, you may have noticed that Snapchat looks very different from before. The company announced in November that the app will change - and it's so that they can make more money.

The Stories page of the app has now gone, and moved somewhere else. Stories from your friends and fellow snappers now show up in the same screen where your private messages and snaps are.

Looking on Twitter, it's fair to say users are not happy about the new app update, with one user saying they'd switch over to instagram Stories instead.

The Discover tab, where stories used to live, now just shows content from professional publishers - such as Mashable and Sky Sports, for example.

There is an easy way to view a story from your friends. Just head over to the Friends screen (where you send snaps to your friends). There will then be a small blue circle around the users' profile, and they will show up at the top of the screen - even if you haven't snapped them for a long time.

To skip a story, just swipe to the right of the screen. As before, though, just tap on the screen go to the next snap on the story.

Adding a snap to your own story is the same as before - so no change there. (yet!) But, if you want to see who's viewed your story, open the app on the camera screen and tap in the top left hand of the screen - next to the Search bar.
